Cambridge Bail Circle, an organisation which seeks to help refugees get out on bail from Oakington Immigration Detention Centre near Cambridge while their asylum claims are being treated. Although in theory, nobody should be held in detention if they have not committed a crime, without sureties, many refugees languish in detention while their asylum claims grind through the system CBC members offer bail sureties for refugees who have nobody else to stand bail for them.

If you are currently in Oakington or Yarls Wood detention centre, and your legal representative is applying for bail for you, and believes that your application for bail would be strengthened by having a bail surety, please ask you lawyer to email or call us with details of your case, and one of our members may meet you and decide whether he or she can provide bail to you

What we can do for you:-

 - If your legal representative contacts us, we may be able to find a surety.

There are several other refugee support organisations performing other functions

If you want general help and support while in Oakington,
